The Tiltersmith

The first day of spring comes and then it goes, but the winter refuses to loosen its grip on Brooklyn, New York. The lake in Prospect Park stays frozen and solid. Sleet, snow, and even a tornado, batter the city. Mr. Ross, the science teacher, believes climate change is the cause, but classmates, Edward, Feenix, Danton and Brigit begin to suspect that older, magical forces are at work. When a peculiar person calling himself Superintendent Tiltersmith appears one morning at their school, their worst suspicions are soon confirmed. It is not long before their beloved principal, Ms. Trevino, vanishes and the school is taken over by the Superintendent who is clearly after something.

But what?  Feenix, Brigit, and Danton are drawn, one by one, into frozen Prospect Park where each stumbles upon an extraordinary tool belonging to the Lady of Spring.

However, it is Edward who finds the fearful entranceway to where she is being held prisoner. If they can return the tools to the Lady and release her, then there may be hope that winter will end. But if the Tiltersmith is able to steal the tools for himself, he will keep the Lady in his power and upset the balance of nature forever.
